Do I need threading?
If you have decided that you would like to have an aesthetic treatment, you should come for a free consultation where we will assess your skin condition, discuss your options and tailor a treatment plan to suit your needs, including threading.
I am interested in the price of threading. How much does it cost?
By the time you've got this far in your reading, you'll know that the cost of a treatment depends on the fibre and the number of strands used. A piece of FTC thread is 4.500 Ft, a piece of COG thread is 30.000 Ft, and a piece of Silhouette Soft thread is 97.000 Ft.
Is threading a safe treatment?
Yes, there is no need to worry! 🙂 The huge advantage of absorbable bio-fibres (compared to their old, non-degradable, artificial predecessors) is that they do not cause any allergic reaction in the body. There are, however, cases where threading is contraindicated (see below), but your doctor will always inform you of the contraindications at the time of your consultation.
Are there any side effects of the treatment?
After the treatment, you may experience some slight bleeding, redness, swelling, tenderness, numbness, but these will disappear after a few days, and you can help the healing process by applying a sterile compress. Always follow the instructions of your doctor to reduce the risks! If you notice any asymmetry or problems after 3 weeks of treatment, call us and we will make any necessary corrections at your new appointment.
When is threading contraindicated?
We do not perform retraction treatments on people under the age of 18, over the age of 60-65, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding. From now on, hair removal as a cosmetic procedure is no longer allowed if the following problems exist:
- if you have diabetes,
- if you have an acute or chronic skin condition, infection or inflammation in the area to be treated,
- blood clotting disorders, anticoagulants, steroids,
- if you have cheloid tendencies.
Does the threading hurt?
An anaesthetic is given before the treatment, so the treatment itself is painless. Multiple fibres can be incorporated in a single inlet, making the treatment even more minimally invasive. All in all, it can be a little inconvenient at most, but in no way painful.
Do I need to care for the treated area at home?
No, but you can use sterile compresses to reduce swelling. And during the day, sunscreen is recommended (but recommended anyway). The important thing is to always follow your doctor's instructions!
Will the result be natural?
Of course! Your face will look permanently refreshed and rested, which everyone will notice, but they won't even know you've had a treatment! 🙂 At Secret Medical, our principle is to get the best out of you by preserving your own original character, but working on the areas that can be improved and problem areas.
How long does the effect of threading last?
The durability of the treatment depends largely on the individual anatomy, the area treated, the condition of the skin, but it can also be influenced by lifestyle, which means that it can vary from person to person. However, as the fibres boost collagen production, you can expect the effects to last for 1-1.5 years.

From FTC thread retraction (Fine Thread Contouring), i.e. fine/thin fibre contouring suitable for stretching Treatment. In this case, we want to achieve as dense a signal as possible in the area to be treated, so we pull in a lot of small fibres (even in a grid-like pattern). The fibres can be completely straight, twisted, double twisted, etc., but the main thing is that we do not use toothed fibres. It is recommended to repeat the FTC threading, but between two treatments min. 3 months is required between two treatments.
You can read about the mechanism of action of FTC threads in our article Understanding FTC threading .
Tooth fibres, or COG fibres for short, are trained in a special way: they are caught in the fabrics by small spikes, and after being pulled in, these fabrics are lifted, which are used to pull approx. We can achieve a lift of 5 mm. This is why COG threading is called a vector lift, which can be used effectively to lift not only the contours of the face, but also deeper wrinkles (e.g. nasolabial folds, marionette lines). (In the case of vector lifting, the aim is not to increase the homogeneous collagen level, but since the lifting fibres also decompose, the fibre is made of a stimulant material for durability, and a collagen bridge takes over the role of the support during and after decomposition.)
The Silhouette Soft threading is also done with toothed threads, which are also used for vector lifting, but their special training and insertion technique allows for an even more significant lifting effect. COG fibres are typically unidirectional, so they can be inserted from the pull point. Silhouette threads, on the other hand, are bidirectional, so they are not inserted from the pull point, but from the middle between the lift and pull points.
Threading is most commonly used for facial rejuvenation, but it's also great for the upper arms, knees, thighs and buttocks!
Which threading method is needed is always decided by a medical opinion during the consultation*.
*In order to apply the aesthetic treatment that is right for you, the doctor may recommend hyaluronic acid fillers or bo-tox treatments as facial rejuvenation treatments instead of hair removal.

How it takes place
the threading?
- 1.Medical consultation
As this is a specialised treatment requiring serious anatomical knowledge, it can only be performed by a doctor. That's why you will consult your doctor from the first time you see him or her. During the consultation, your suitability will be assessed, your medical history will be taken and your ideas and treatment options will be discussed. - 2.Treatment
In all cases, you will be given an anaesthetic before the threading procedure to minimise discomfort during the treatment.
In the case of FTC fibres, an anaesthetic cream is used before the punctures, many small fibres are inserted and then the treated area is iced.
For COG fibres, we first assess the mobile region to be lifted and the fixed region to anchor the fibres to. We then draw the insertion vectors. You will be anaesthetised with a cannula (lidocaine) and the threading will be done. When all the strands are in, the lifting (pulling) is done, and then the loose strands are cut off. Usually 2-8 threads are inserted per side, half as many of Silhouett Soft threads, as it is a "double" due to the insertion technique.
The treatment takes half an hour to 1 hour, depending on the amount of fibres. - 3.After the threading
In the case of FTC threading, bleeding may occur after treatment, but pain, tenderness or other discomfort should not be expected. After vector liposuction, you will be completely free of complaints due to the anaesthesia, but given that we are talking about "minor surgery", the face may be sensitive to touch, facial expressions and chewing for up to 2 weeks. You may experience mild bleeding, redness, swelling and tenderness, which can be relieved at home with an ice pack wrapped in sterile tissue. After treatment, you can return to your daily activities, but follow a few simple rules! After the treatment, avoid sunbathing, tanning beds, saunas and use sunscreen for a week. Your doctor will of course inform you about this. After 2 weeks, a personal check-up is mandatory! - 4.Repeat and/or combination of treatments
You already know that whichever technique you use, the bio-fibres will be absorbed over time (about 3 months), allowing you to repeat the treatment. It can even be combined with other types of treatment. Browse our Treatment Combinations and Treatment Programmes!
In the case of FTC fibres, we recommend repeating annually for preventive purposes, but if you want to work on an area, you can repeat up to every 3 months. (The fibres do break down, but their signal maintains the elevated collagen synthesis for much longer, so you can achieve an even greater effect with the fibres as they fuse together.)
Vector lifting can be repeated, but it should never be repeated within 1 year.
