How it takes place

the hyaluronic acid filling?

  1. 1.
    Specialist medical consultation
As it is an injectable treatment, it can only be administered by a doctor, so you will consult your doctor from the first time you have it. During the consultation, your suitability will be assessed, your medical history will be taken and your ideas and treatment options will be discussed. If there is no reason not to and you want it, you can have it done at your first appointment.
  2. 2.
    Treatment
Before injecting hyaluronan, apply a numbing cream to the area to be treated and leave on for 10-20 minutes. Then wipe off the cream and disinfect the skin.
A very thin needle or blunt-ended cannula is used to inject the right type of hyaluronic acid under the skin.
The depth of injection varies. To replace missing elastic tissue, the filler is placed deep in the periosteum. In contrast, e.g. nasolabial fold filling involves a moderately deep filling of the subcutaneous tissue, whereas a fine wrinkle can be effectively treated by injecting a filler directly into the dermis (the connective tissue layer of the skin).
The total treatment should not take more than 15 minutes.
  3. 3.
    After hyaluronic acid wrinkle fillers
There may be some mild bleeding, swelling and tenderness at the puncture sites, which will disappear after a few days. After a hyaluronic acid wrinkle fill, you can go back to your daily activities, but follow a few simple rules! PROHIBITED after treatment
    • Use of cosmetics and make-up for 24 hours,
    • 5 days of intense sweating sports, sauna,
    • 1 week of sun exposure, tanning bed,
    • No dental treatment or cosmetic treatment is recommended for 4 weeks.
Your doctor will of course inform you about this.
  4. 4.
    Repeat and/or combination of treatments
The filler degrades over time, but the treatment can be repeated or combined with other treatments. If you're interested in this topic, check out our customisable Treatment Programmes!
