About plastic procedures performed at our center
Personalization is key in plastic surgery, and an essential component of this is a specialist consultation. During the first visit, we assess your needs and determine the most suitable treatment or treatments for you. We discuss important aspects: achievable results, pre-operative requirements, post-operative care procedures, and also address any potential complications.
Based on the condition of different tissue layers, facial plastic surgery can be performed at three different depths:
- Excision of excess skin,
- Removal of fatty tissue,
- Potentially tightening of muscle tissue.
The breast surgeon uses all the tissue from the reconstructed breast, known as the 'flap', and stitches it together to form the protruding nipple. With this procedure, the shape of the nipple can be created, but the colour is the same as the colour of the reconstructed breast, which can be modified with a "medical" tattoo. The tattoo can be done after the reconstruction, or even on its own to give the right look and colour mix to the nipple and areola as a whole.

The areola can even be reconstructed with skin taken from a donor area (the area of the body from which the skin tissue comes). This is usually taken from the upper part of the inner thigh, as the skin there is a slightly darker shade, so the colour is more in keeping with the colour of the areola than the skin of the breast. This will leave a scar (a straight line about 5-6 cm long) in the donor area where the skin used for the areola was removed, which will fade over time. If the patient prefers a non-scarring solution, tattoos can also be used to tint the areola.
Nipple and areola tattooing is performed by a medical tattooist. It may be necessary to perform the procedure several times before the patient is satisfied with the colour of the tattoo, although an exact colour match cannot always be guaranteed.
After reconstructive surgery, the wound is covered with a special dressing to prevent infection and absorb any bleeding. The treated area should be kept clean and dry while the dressing is on.
You will be booked in for a follow-up appointment one week after the operation, when the dressing will be removed to check that the wound is healing properly, and then you will be given a follow-up appointment for suture removal.
Recovery can take several weeks, but normal activities can be resumed after a few days (or whenever the patient feels ready). The scarring will be visible for some time, but will fade over time.
Facial plastics
A facelift permanently treats the visible signs of facial ageing (sagging skin, deep wrinkles, wrinkles in the nose-mouth or lip-chin regions, sagging jowls, loose, sagging skin on the neck).

When to choose a facelift?
- If advanced skin ageing: in the case of facial features that have changed due to sagging, if the entire face is affected by visible changes;
- if the wrinkling around the eyes and neck is severe;
- if deep folds have formed on the face;
- if large "bags" (significant sagging) have developed in the chin and stump area;
- if you want spectacular and long-lasting results.
The procedure consists mainly of pre-planned skin excisions where excess skin that is causing the looseness is removed. Then the sagging subcutaneous connective tissue, fat, muscle fascia is sutured to the defined anatomical points. This is how you get the new firmer, smoother, more youthful features. This rejuvenating surgical procedure involves the entire face:
- tighten the wrinkles around the temples and eyes;
- the fat pads on the cheeks are tightened, leaving the face plump and youthful again;
- smooth out the folds of the nose and mouth;
- lifting the sides of the face to correct the chin bags;
- the hanging of the neck and the neck can be achieved by tightening the skin of the neck.
The mammary gland
and the amniotic sac repair surgery
If the patient decides to have reconstructive surgery, the options, risks and benefits are discussed with the doctor so that an informed decision can be made. Nipple reconstruction is a safe surgery performed under local anaesthesia in an outpatient setting.
Mini facelift
The mini facelift differs from a full facelift in that it typically focuses on the cheeks, chin arches and neck. It is a minor procedure and the recovery time is faster.

When to choose the mini facelift?
- If the facial changes affect the skin of the cheeks and chin arches the most;
- if the nose and mouth folds have become pronounced due to sagging of the overlying fat pad;
- if you want to correct the sagging of the chin "pouches" and the chin;
- if you don't have deep wrinkles around your eyes;
- if there are no neck wrinkles, excess skin.

Eyelid surgery,
eyelid lift

Blepharoplasty - blepharoplasty or eyelid lift - is a plastic surgery procedure that provides a more youthful appearance and improves vision by modifying the eyelids and the skin around the eyes. Sagging of the eyelids is part of the natural aging process, but it can also have genetic causes, so it can be a relevant intervention for aesthetic and health reasons. Blepharoplasty can be performed on both the upper and lower eyelids, and both areas can be treated together as part of a full blepharoplasty.

Nipple and
bud yard restoration
In our centre we do not perform breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast removal and breast reconstruction, but in addition to mini face lifts, Dr Mihály Újhelyi also performs nipple and areola reconstruction. This plastic surgery is recommended for patients who have had breast reconstruction surgery. It is an elective operation, so patients who are happy with a breast reconstruction without a nipple can choose not to have the operation. (An alternative is the attachable silicone nipple prosthesis, which can be custom-made as an exact replica of the original nipple and areola.)

Nipple and areola reconstruction is the final stage of breast reconstruction, usually performed 3-6 months after the breast reconstruction surgery or surgery on the other breast, when the swelling that occurred as a result of the surgery has gone. The new nipple can then be placed in its correct position on the reconstructed breast.

What are the risks
nipple and areola reconstruction surgery?
As with any surgery, there are risks, but these can be minimised with proper patient care and good doctor-patient communication. Most ladies are very happy with the result.
- Although it is a small procedure, there is a low risk of bleeding. There is also a low risk of infection of the wound, which may delay wound healing and may require antibiotic treatment to clear the infection.
- The blood supply to the new nipple may be inadequate, causing the tissue used to form the nipple to die. In this case, the nipple will have to be removed and another solution to restore the nipple will be proposed.
- The nipple protrusion flattens out to some extent over time. It may be necessary to carry out further remedial intervention to increase the excavation.
- Nipple and areola tattoos may fade over time and may need to be repeated to match the colour.
Skin lesions
plastic excision
Although warts, fibroids and other skin lesions are typically benign, they can be aesthetically disturbing. Since they protrude from the surface of the skin, it may be worth removing them to avoid causing more trouble later.

Such removals are short operations under local anaesthesia. One of the surgeon's main tasks, in addition to the correct technique for excising the skin lesion, is to determine the correct direction of the incision - an incision parallel to the skin's lines of force is better for healing. Skin lesions removed using tissue-sparing surgical techniques heal with beautiful scars: optimally, only a hair-thin linear scar is left on the skin.
It is legitimate to ask what the difference is between surgical and plastic surgery skin resection. The answer lies in technology. While in general surgery, the aim of the removal is essentially to save lives, in plastic surgery, aesthetics are the primary concern. As a result, the shape of the incisions, and therefore the scars that remain afterwards, is also different.
Surgical skin excision is performed in the form of a laurel leaf to remove the skin lesion to a sufficient depth. The skin defect is greater and the scarring is more severe. In contrast, in plastic surgery, the excision itself is more carefully planned to ensure that the scarring is aesthetic and leaves as little visible trace as possible (this is usually achieved by making a multi-directional incision.)
