The history of laser medical treatments goes back decades, but back then they were used with a completely different purpose and method. The first machines operated on a continuous wavelength, so they were typically used for surgical procedures (cutting). These were followed by the first-generation ablative carbon dioxide lasers, which were already used for "resurfacing" the entire skin or skin lesion, which was considered a rather risky intervention with a long recovery time.

The next step in laser skin rejuvenation was pulsating, scanning carbon dioxide lasers, which could be used more safely for resurfacing. Then in 2006, the first fractional ultra high speed scanner diode, yag and carbon dioxide laser appeared, which guarantees a much faster recovery, much lower risk and much fewer complications, i.e. it is much more comfortable and safer than its predecessors.
