You will have noticed that we have consistently not used the term permanent hair removal. This is because we think it would be misleading. Because of possible dormant hair follicles and hormonal changes, a maintenance treatment (1 session) may be needed every 1-3 years. But it also means that, in the worst case, the problem of hair removal is solved for years. 🙂 And by the way, in some areas, permanent hair removal is not uncommon, nor is lifelong hairlessness!

This is difficult to tell on sight, as it is greatly influenced by individual characteristics (skin and hair type). That's why we recommend a free consultation before your first treatment, where we'll assess your skin condition, take stock of your options and draw up a personalised treatment plan. So you'll know exactly what results to expect in your case.

You already know what the GentleMax Pro® can do compared to other medical, professional-use machines, but IPL hair removal machines have really not been mentioned yet, and they are available in many places, and they are not cheap. What is the difference?

The obvious answer is that the home machine is not a medical machine. That means the result will be different, as IPL cannot go as deep as professional lasers. Home flash hair removal machines tend to only slow down hair growth, possibly thinning the amount, but you will have to do it regularly, the results will not be permanent.

Then there is the issue of machine management. The GentleMax Pro® is calibrated very specifically and individually for each of your treatments. This is a highly skilled job, which is why aesthetic practitioners are thoroughly trained and have years of experience in this field. It's easy to see that a home gadget can't match this level of performance.

Fact: not everyone is suitable for permanent laser hair removal. This has been stressed several times and will be discussed during the free consultation (which is why it's worth coming). But if you invest in a home machine but it's not suitable (you may have over-used it and become dehydrated), you've wasted tens of thousands of dollars and could end up with serious injuries if not handled by a professional.

The price of laser hair removal depends primarily on the size of the area treated. In this context, we have established separate pricing for our female and male patients, as well as per body part and body group. At Secret Medical, laser hair removal starts from 18-20.000 HUF/application, you can see the prices in detail at the bottom of the page. As it is typical for a single area to be treated over several sessions, usually 6, we have developed a number of leases, where the 6. we'll give you my album for free, as a gift. 🙂

As with any cosmetic treatment, there are of course risks, but these are minimal with the GentleMax Pro® laser. During the preliminary consultation, our experienced colleagues will determine your skin type and any risk factors, so the treatment is safe. There is no need to worry. 🙂

After the treatment, the skin may become red, but this will disappear within a few hours. This redness is an inherent part of laser treatments (no more significant than after epilation or waxing). Surface burns and tiny blisters may rarely occur on the treated area. It heals well with conservative treatment and does not leave any permanent damage to the skin.

Although the treatment can be performed on all skin types, GentleMax Pro® laser hair removal should not be used if the following problems exist:

• Photosensitive skin;
• Acute febrile or inflammatory illness;
• Herpes simplex;
• Untreated diabetes;
• Epilepsy;
• Pregnancy, breastfeeding;
• Cancer;
• Potent dermatological preparations, use of certain antibiotics;
• Treatment is not recommended for children under 17 years of age;
• Hormonal imbalance;
• Because of the high pigmentation, tattoos (on the area to be treated) are an exclusion.

Laser hair removal is by its nature not completely numb, but GentleMax Pro®, thanks to its patented built-in DCD (Dynamic Cooling Device) technology, cools the treated skin immediately (with miliseconds before and after the shot), providing the least uncomfortable solution for a treatment in professional hands (!)! 🙂

No, but you must follow the instructions of your therapist, as certain activities cannot be performed immediately after laser hair removal or during the entire treatment! (Avoid sunbathing, sun beds, saunas, hot baths, cosmetics, creams for 1-2 days, use sunscreen. Your aesthetician will of course inform you about these.)

The durability of the treatment depends largely on the individual anatomy. As with most aesthetic treatments, 1-1 maintenance treatment may be warranted over time, as hair grows in cycles, dormant hair follicles may be present or hormonal changes may affect it. Even with the "worst", we are talking about results that last for years, but lifelong hairlessness in certain areas is not uncommon.
